Consent to electronic records and signatures
This disclosure is presented to every signer before the first field of a packet, and is recorded in the certificate of execution.
Last updated January 2026
1. Your consent
By continuing into a packet, you agree to receive the documents in it electronically and to sign them electronically. Your electronic signature has the same legal effect as a handwritten one under the federal Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (ESIGN) and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA) as adopted in your state.
2. What you need
To access and keep these records you need:
- a current version of a modern browser such as Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox, on a computer or a phone;
- an active email account and the ability to receive mail at it;
- the ability to view and save PDF files, and either a printer or sufficient storage to keep a copy;
- a connection to the internet.
If these requirements change in a way that creates a material risk that you could not access or retain your records, we will tell you.
3. Paper copies
You may request a paper copy of any record you have signed through BorrowDocs. Write to help@borrowdocs.com with the packet reference. We do not charge for the first copy.
4. Withdrawing consent
You may withdraw your consent to do business electronically at any time before you complete signing, by closing the signing session and writing to help@borrowdocs.com. Withdrawing consent means the sender must arrange another way to complete the transaction, and it may delay or prevent it. Withdrawal does not affect the validity of anything you already signed.
5. Keeping your address current
Notices are sent to the email address the sender used for you. Tell the sender promptly if it changes, otherwise records may be delivered to an address you no longer read.
6. What we record
When you consent, we record the moment of consent, the address it was presented to, the IP address and user agent it came from, and the documents presented. This becomes part of the certificate of execution for the packet and is retained as described in our Privacy Policy.
